Operating system from Apple has grown this year. Unfortunately, its success is not as swift as Android- the main competitor in the market. In the third quarter of 2012 were sold 27 million mobile devices on iOS, was 15% of the world market. Total sales growth is 57%. Not so bad, but it’s just one percent more than a year ago. Despite the launch of the iPhone 5 in September, users have not yet had time to assess the potential of new iOS.

The third representative of “big three” of mobile platforms has the worse situation. BlackBerry sales have decreased almost 35%, and overall market share fell down more than for five percent. Symbian has the largest fall in the last few years, and Windows Phone goes out from last places.

Such happy news for members of Android primarily associated with an increase in the total number of mobile devices on the platform. Several IT-giants is against one Apple with its iPhone. This competition is not healthy. In addition, the table excludes sales of iPad. And this is one of the most popular tablet computers in the world. If it was in this report, the balance of power may have shifted to the side of iOS. Samsung with its tablets could not change the situation.

Western analysts have reacted to the news quite calmly. Many were unhappy with iOS 6, and did not consider her as innovative as, for example, the fifth version of the popular operating system. Additionally new cards are also not justifying the expectations of users.

It is not very difficult to make a forecast for the further development of platforms. The share of Android will still grow, largely due to sales of devices recently presented byGoogle. The same thing will happen with Apple: sells of iPad mini of fourth-generation tablet, and new wave of sales of iPhone 5. It will be an interesting fight.
